The Georgetown BID reached out to help Fringe find low-cost, vacant retail locations – hosting the festival for the first time in its 17-year history.

Dust off the berets for the popular Georgetown French Market, a Parisian-inspired open-air market in the charming Book Hill neighborhood. Face painting, caricature artists, roaming whimsical street performers, and live French and gypsy jazz offer fun and entertainment for all ages. C’est magnifique!

The festival is moving to Georgetown for the first time in the festival’s 17-year history — the Georgetown Park retail complex on M Street NW, to be exact.

Explore the annual Georgetown French Market, featuring more than 25 local antique stores, restaurants, and more. There will be macarons, a caricature artist, and live music.

Join Georgetown Heritage Board of Directors, and co-chairs Heather Johnson and Brooke Stroud Thursday, April 28, 2022 to celebrate the launch of the new Canal boat in Georgetown.

The new boat was funded by a grant from the District of Columbia, and designed as a historic replica of the boats you would see in the 1880s, during the heyday of the canal’s commercial operation in Georgetown, according to the Georgetown Heritage website.

The nonprofit Georgetown Heritage, in partnership with the C&O Canal National Historical Park in Georgetown, is welcoming a new canal boat, “The Georgetown Heritage,” with a ribbon-cutting, christening and celebration next Thursday.

For the first time in 10 years you’ll be soon be able to tour the C&O Canal in Georgetown by boat.

Shoppers can expect the new permanent location to be ready for business this summer.
