Book Discussion and Signing with Dr. Harlan Ullman
From the author of “shock and awe”, Dr. Ullman will present his latest and most important book yet – The Fifth Horseman and the New MAD: How Massive Attacks of Disruption Became the Looming Existential Danger to a Divided Nation and the World at Large. If you are worried about America’s future, read this book! In these pages, Dr. Harlan Ullman issues a dramatic warning about the unrecognized existential dangers to the nation threatened by the Fifth Horseman armed with Massive Attacks of Disruption (MAD) and offers a plan of action America must take if it is to remain safe, secure and prosperous in the future.
The Covid-19 pandemic, the January 6 insurrection and storming of the US Capitol, Solar Winds cyber attacks, extreme weather and mega fires were unmistakeable proof of the new MAD exacerbating threats posed by China, Russia, non-state actors and others. The most profound question is whether America’s Constitution, politics and political system can withstand the assaults of the new MAD in a bitterly divided nation? What must be done? First, the potentially existential dangers posed by MAD, especially to government, must be recognized. Second, a 21st century national security framework must be implemented to deal with both new and traditional threats. Third, a private-public partnership in a national infrastructure investment fund can redress many of the risks of MAD.
