Please join us for our October Pop-Up party at the Scout Flagship Store in Georgetown. A Halloween celebration filled with Mahj – Lite Bites – Signature Cocktail – Wine – Raffle Prizes & More! You don’t want to miss this spooky affair. Scout will be offering 20% OFF all Scout purchases made during the event. We will be offering tables of Mahj 101, Mahj 102 and Mahj 103 lessons & Open Play!

What level are you?

Mahj 101 – For those that have never played before. After our Mahj 101 lesson, you will have a basic understanding of how to play a game and the ability to practice online. We start with tile identification, game set up, and rules, as well as an overview of the National Mah Jongg League card. We then go into basic game play.

Mahj 102 – For those with a basic knowledge of the game. Mahj 102 lessons will quickly run back through the rules covered in Mahj 101 and then jump into more in-depth game play and strategy.

Mahj 103 – Mahj 103 will jump right into gameplay and focus on more advanced game strategy. Our goal is after Mahj 103 all players are comfortable with independent play.

Open Play – For those that know how to play and do not need any instruction. You love Mahj and are excited to play with others! Please bring your NMJL card or we will have them for purchase at the event.

NOTES:
Your spot is not confirmed until you have paid via Venmo and received a confirmation email from us.
Sign ups are on a first come, first serve basis.
Doors will open at 6:30pm for snacks, drinks & shopping. The lessons and game play will begin around 7:00pm!
Parking is available in a lot on the corner of 33rd & M. There is also the Colonial Parking Garage under Georgetown Park.
Cancellation Policy: We understand everyone has things come up at the last minute! We are happy to offer a credit to a future event, if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel after that window, you will not receive a refund or credit. The number of players matters in Mahjong!

National Mahjongg League Cards are required to play. We will have cards for participant use during the lesson. If you are interested in purchasing a card from us to keep with you after the lesson (so you can play on your own!), we will have them available at the event.
