Spot of Tea Grand Opening

Spot of Tea is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest location in Georgetown, located inside the Grace Street Collective at 3210 Grace St NW. To celebrate, Spot of Tea will offer all drinks for half price from Friday, October 4th to Sunday, October 6th during operating hours – 11AM to 8PM.

About Spot of Tea

Spot of Tea was founded in 2017 and quickly became a favorite in the DC farmers market circuit.
The tea shop’s newest location – its second brick mortar – pairs a chic, colorfully-tiled service
counter with indoor and patio seating options at Georgetown’s Grace Street Collective food hall.
The menu features playful bubble tea flavors and fun topping combinations.

Spot of Tea provides “a refreshing take on tea,” infusing energy into each aspect of their
business. Vibrant decor welcomes customers into the space, matching eye-popping drinks with
bold, contrasting colors. “We put a lot of time and care into choosing our ingredients, brewing our
tea, and making sure our work is sustainable,” says co-owner Glenn Baginski. “When you do
those things well, I think you can really surprise people! Our goal is to have everyone leave a little
bit happier than when they came in.”

Spot of Tea’s signature drinks include Blue Jasmine (jasmine milk tea colored blue with butterfly
pea flower), Hibiscus Mango, Vanilla Taro, and a range of fruit tea and milk tea options. The
beverage menu, designed to be delicious on its own, can also be elevated by adding signature
toppings, like freshly cooked boba or oat-based salted ube-vanilla cold foam. Spot of Tea sets
itself apart by using all natural ingredients and real fruit, eschewing the artificial creamers and
flavoring syrups that are still commonplace at most boba shops. By default, all drinks are made
with oat milk (when applicable) and only lightly sweetened to highlight the ingredients’ flavors.
Both sweetness and milk choices are customizable.

Spot of Tea is operated by co-owners Dillon Chai, Glenn Baginski, and David Cooper. The trio’s
first foray into boba took place on campus at Rice University while they were undergrads. They
landed in Washington DC in part because the city is Cooper’s hometown. “It was incredibly
special, getting to start Spot of Tea in the place where I grew up,” says David. “I’m always
flattered that customers from our farmers market days will still come in and tell us how happy
they are that we’ve continued to grow.”
