Woodblock Printing with Leslie Rose

Transfer an image, carve, and print in one or two colors from a 5″ x 7″ woodblock. Images can be taken from a photograph, drawing or other piece of artwork. Magazines will be available to provide image ideas, but the more formed your idea, the faster you can get started. Tools and printing paper will be provided.

March 8th / Session 1: We will walk through the steps involved and begin work transposing your design onto a woodblock. Then we will start carving the block!

March 9th / Session 2: We will tear our paper and print 4-6 editions from the blocks we carved.

The cost of this class is $170.00 and includes the materials needed for this class. The materials include: a woodblock and a sheet of printmaking paper that will be torn down to 4-6 pieces. The Woodblock Printing Workshop is limited to 4 students who will receive a woodblock, with archival print paper for the student to keep. Also included is use of studio tools and inks.
