Printmaking for the Technical: A Workshop with Keith Palmer
Do you like to color within the lines? When baking, do you level your flour with a knife? Do you enjoy taking notes using all capital letters on graph paper? Do you arrive to meetings ten minutes early? If yes, then this might be the printmaking workshop for you.
Printmaking for the Technical will take you from photograph to framed print by exploring the use of software, toner copy transfers, micro chisel carving, foam core registration jigs, proper inking and printing techniques, and framing your piece.
Though no printmaking experience is necessary, this workshop does require you to be able to learn and use basic commands for computer software such as Befunky.com and GIMP. Access to a computer/laptop and printer outside of workshop hours is necessary. The cost of the class is $190 and is limited to 4 students. Materials are an additional cost and could range from $125 on up, depending on students’ objective and supplies on hand.
