“Art” Events

This class will help students develop their college art portfolios and prepare students for college level art critique so they will feel more comfortable talking about their artwork.

Beginning with traditional forms of drawing, this 7-week class will start by teaching comparative measurement and drawing from direct observation.

Slip knot binding is an uncomplicated and decorative way to weave the pages of an artist book together with minimal tools, as well as a versatile binding for various trim sizes. In this class we will spend time exploring ways to apply abstracted marks to paper that will become the visual content of the book structure, and then weave the pages together to bind the book along with beaded embellishments.

Whether you want to be a traditional oil painter or a digital illustrator, it is very important to have a solid foundation in drawing.

This class will teach you everything you need to get started and allow you to frame 2-3 paintings.

In this class, students will learn how to think about their artwork in layers and explore some of the mysterious interactions of color that captivated artists throughout history.
