“A Sisterhood of Spies, Spirits, and Secrecy” Event
Join a spy, a chef, and a sommelier for Vintage Espionage: A Sisterhood of Spies, Spirits, and Secrecy on Thursday, January 18 from 6 pm – 8 pm at 1310 Kitchen & Bar, showcasing the role wine and spirits played in the day-to-day operations of two CIA field officers. The evening begins with a 45-minute Georgetown walking tour that will focus on women who played a role in intelligence operations during World War II, as well as women who impacted the trajectory of men in the world of espionage. Afterward, take part in a blind tasting of four old and new world vintage wines, enjoy a charcuterie and cheese board curated by 1310 Chef and Owner Jenn Crovato, and hear from a former CIA officer who will teach you about the core functions of an intelligence operative to spot, assess, develop, recruit, and handle human sources. Hear stories of how wine helped to build relationships, forge memories, and enable key discussions “in confidence.”
