Blues Alley Jazz Festival, Now Through April 30

Head to Georgetown for the Blues Alley Jazz Festival, now through April 30. Events include a guitar symposium, Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition Day, a DC jazz book talk, and jazz orchestra and vocal ensembles, culminating with a Big Band Jam April 28-30 at Georgetown Waterfront Park. This year’s festival is particularly meaningful, as the city of DC recently declared April “Blues Alley Jazz Month.” The country’s oldest, continuously operating jazz supper club has been in existence for 58 years, hosting the likes of Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Mary Lou Williams and Wynton Marsalis.
