Celebrate Pride in Georgetown
In celebration of Pride, the DC Unicorn Boat will be making its way through the city’s waterfronts again this year. Head to Georgetown Waterfront Park around 2:45 pm (ish) this Saturday, June 12 for Paint (with Fruity Pebbles) the Potomac Colorful – a loud and colorful boat celebration passing through the area with – yes – dancing unicorns.
If you’re in Georgetown tomorrow (June 11), Urban Outfitters is celebrating Pride and hosting a MRKT Place Pop-Up and live painting from 2 pm – 6 pm featuring local artists and designers – many of whom represent the LGBTQ+ community. Vendors include Flower Girl Herbs, Blaq Sheep Collection, No Order, and Knoxi Fashion. Outside, Isiah Gatheright will be at his booth painting and selling his artwork, returning June 18.
If it’s food you’re after, check out the bottomless Rosé brunch at Bourbon Steak, June 12 and 13, featuring DJ Tezrah and DJ Farah Flosscett, as well as guest performances by KC B Yonce and Logan Stone. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Equality Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Capital Pride, to raise awareness and relief funds for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and businesses.
