Donate: Georgetown Employee Emergency Relief
From the line cook at your favorite restaurant to the small business retail associate, so many of our Georgetown commercial district employees are hurting right now. Consider showing your support by donating to the Georgetown BID Employee Emergency Relief Grant program, in partnership with Georgetown nonprofit Halcyon. Employees in the Georgetown BID commercial district who have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus crisis, and need money to pay for rent, food, medical bills, or other emergency costs because they have few other options, can apply for up to $500 in financial assistance through this program.
The Georgetown BID funded the first $150,000, which was granted to hundreds of initial applicants. There are hundreds’ more unemployed workers who served our business community and are still in need of financial assistance. Your donation will help them until we are able to warmly welcome them back to Georgetown. 100% of the funds donated here will be distributed to those in need, through this program.
For companies wishing to make a larger corporate donation, please contact the
Georgetown BID directly: Nancy Miyahira, nmiyahira@georgetowndc.com.
Donations to this fund will be made tax-deductible through Halcyon’s 501(c)(3) status.
Let’s serve those who have served us so well, until we can warmly welcome them back to Georgetown!
