Documentary Premiere Featuring Georgetown Gallery Owner
The City Tavern Preservation Foundation is hosting the premiere of Walls of Respect: Norman Parish and the Parish Art Gallery, June 6 at 3206 M St NW. The new documentary honors the life and work of Norman Parish, Jr., whose Georgetown gallery showcased international African American art at a time when few others did. This film will explore Parish’s artistic legacy through interviews with past exhibitors, family, friends, collectors, and art professionals, and the impact of Parish’s work on artists and DC’s arts culture. A special pre-screening reception with the filmmakers and honored guests will be held on Monday, June 6 at 6 pm, followed by the film premiere; purchase your reception tickets here. Film screenings only are June 6 and June 7 at 7 pm; tickets are $10.
