Final Days of Capital Fringe Festival
Show these local artists some love during the final days of the Capital Fringe Festival, July 21 – 24 at Georgetown Park. Highlights include The Green Machine about a Black realtor, a white stoner and an aging hippie who have just opened a weed shop in gentrifying DC; The Body Show featuring storytellers sharing true stories from their lives about body image, body changes, finding peace in their bodies, and the tricky business of the physical self; and a comedic yet heartfelt show called Motherload about two performers’ relationships with their mothers. (Find descriptions of each show and tickets here.)
Fringe attendees will also have access to discounts at more than 25 Georgetown businesses.
On Saturday, head to the festival bar at Sandlot Georgetown (2715 Pennsylvania Ave NW) for a community open mic from 3 pm – 5 pm (sign-up onsite 30 minutes prior). A $50 prize and gift bag will be awarded to the audience favorite.
