Georgetown Galleries Spring Art Walk
The Georgetown Galleries Spring Art Walk is returning on Friday, May 13 from 5 pm – 8 pm. Galleries, shops, restaurants and non-profits in the charming Book Hill section of Wisconsin Avenue will open their doors to celebrate creativity, community, and Shop Small Georgetown week. The event is free and open to the public. Enjoy light drinks and live music, and stop by Addison/Ripley Fine Art, Klagsbrun Studios, Scilla + Luna, The Fountain Inn (hosting Caroline Karp), The African Union, Calloway Fine Art & Consulting, Gallery Article 15, and Washington Printmakers Gallery. Highlights include six sunflower pieces painted live with 20% of the proceeds donated to World Central Kitchen, an exhibition depicting the challenges and joys of everyday life in the Congo, a collection of photographs from a French artist in tribute to the spring, paintings with rich surfaces constructed from layers of interwoven color, line, and form, and a series of works on canvas, paper, and board that pay homage to the artist’s family.
