GLOW Artists & Art Installations Announced
We are unveiling the artists and artworks behind the 8th edition of GLOW, presented by 2900 M and produced by the Georgetown BID! National and international artists will show five commissioned light art installations throughout our commercial district from Saturday, November 26 – Sunday, January 22.
Check out a sneak peek, below, of one of the artworks, Picto Sender Machine by Chilean artist Felipe Prado, in collaboration with Light Art Collection. This piece will transport visitors back in time, when there was no such thing as “high definition.” The installation consists of an enormous low-resolution screen and invites people to record a short video message. But you can’t use words to express your message; only your silhouette, dance steps, and gestures will be translated into blocks of light, displayed live on the screen.
Visit our GLOW website for a look at the other four artworks, plus information on additional GLOW programming – from more than 30 walking tours, to GLOW-themed yoga and Pilates classes, a silent disco, a special evening of late-night shopping, and more.
