Labor Day Paddle on the Potomac

Say so long to summer with a weekend out on the water. Join Key Bridge Boathouse (3500 Water St NW) for a kayak sunset paddle on Saturday, August 31 at 7 pm. After a brief paddling demo and safety instruction, your guided tour will start off with a paddle around Theodore Roosevelt Island, right up to the Watergate steps. From there you’ll get views of the Lincoln and Washington Memorials before paddling into the sunset on your way back.

If you haven’t quite gotten your sea (or rather river) legs yet, Key Bridge Boathouse also offers plenty of classes. Learn to stand up paddleboard on August 29 at 6 pm, or take an hour-long kayak class on Monday, September 2 at the same time. A kids kayaking class is also available for those ages 8-14 at 5 pm on Friday and Monday.
