L’Avant-Garde Welcomes New Chef
L’Avant-Garde (2915 M St NW), recently named the #9 best restaurant in DC by Washingtonian, is welcoming a new head Chef and partner, Sébastien Giannini. Born and raised in France, Sébastien says his cooking is inspired by his early experiences shopping at seaside markets with his grandmother. He has worked in Michelin starred restaurants everywhere from the French Riviera to Montreal, and competed in prestigious cooking competitions. The L’Avant-Garde menu will feature dishes that represent simple yet elevated French cuisine, from seared duck breast with red cabbage, gala apples and duck demi-glace, to French roasted chicken suprême with olive oil potato purée, chicken thigh mousse and roasted garlic, and crispy meringue and strawberry sorbet with strawberry jelly, marshmallow, and chocolate ganache.
