New Regency-Inspired Afternoon Tea at Four Seasons
Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC (2800 Pennsylvania Ave NW) – recently recognized by U.S News Travel as the #1 hotel in DC and the 10th best in the country – is bringing back its afternoon tea with a royal twist. Join the ton – a Regency term for “high society” – every Saturday with Executive Pastry Chef AJ Thalakkat at the helm. Dainty pastries, inspired by the British Royal Family’s preferences, will be served on a traditional three-tiered tea stand with porcelain tea pots. The menu includes Royal tea scones served with clotted cream and strawberry lavender preserves, chocolate biscuit cake (Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite), raspberry lemon tarts, Earl Grey fruit cake, shortbread cookies, and Battenberg. Savory dishes include a house-smoked Scottish salmon topped with ossetra caviar. Afternoon tea will be served every Saturday from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.
