Nordic Jazz Festival Shows in Georgetown

For the 18th annual Nordic Jazz Festival, the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden are bringing Nordic jazz artists to Blues Alley (1073 Wisconsin Ave NW), the oldest jazz supper club in the country. On Tuesday, June 18, don’t miss Oskar Stenmark Sextet and 45 Riots. According to Blues Alley, the band is a unique take on Swedish folk melodies mixed with modern NYC jazz. You can catch one of two performances, at 7 pm or 9 pm. Other shows in the series include the Sara Magnusdottir Hammond Organ Trio on June 17, and acclaimed Danish jazz guitarist Jacob Artved and his NYC-based quartet on June 19.
