(Not) Pizza Preview at YELLOW
YELLOW Georgetown (1524 Wisconsin Ave NW) is expanding its daytime cafe with a “(not) pizza” evening concept – a sourdough celebration of Levantine flavors, fired in their wood-burning oven on Tuesdays – Saturdays from 4 pm – 9 pm. The grand opening is September 22, but stop by for a pop-up preview on August 18 – 19. (Not) pizzas include the harissa with spicy cherry tomato, smoked jibne, more harissa, and basil; summer squash with burnt onion cream, green shatta, caciocavallo, smoked feta, and serrano chilis; soujek with smoked jibne, sweet corn, pickled chilis, za’atar honey, and oregano; and burnt eggplant with kefta, ricotta, fire-rosted jimmy nardello, grano padano, and urfa chili crisp. Plates include smoky palestinian olives, levantine pickles, smoked brisket hummus with pomegranate and pita, and charred corn labne with green shatta and pita. The evening menu will also feature natural wines and crafty cocktails, like the Mish Mish Spritz with apricot brandy, pisco, and topo.
