Special Juneteenth C&O Canal Boat Tour

C&O Canal boat tours are back in Georgetown after more than a decade, Wednesday – Sunday through October. Book your one-hour guided historical tour along the first mile of the Canal, and learn about its fascinating history, technology and culture – and the surprising stories of the people who lived, worked and played here over the past two centuries.

This Sunday, June 19, all tours will have a special Black history theme in honor of Juneteenth – highlighting the C&O Canal’s role in at least one escape from slavery, and African-American contributions to The Star-Spangled Banner, as well as restoration of the Canal after its closure.
