Summer Art Installation at Bourbon Steak
Bourbon Steak DC (2800 Pennsylvania Ave NW) partnered with renowned local artist Maggie O’Neill to launch the installation The Liberty of Color on the restaurant’s outdoor patio, and a collection of her original artwork throughout the hotel lobby and restaurant. The installation debuted this month as part of Pride – celebrating individuality and diversity, and creating an inclusive and colorful home for an ongoing summer series. Maggie O’Neill’s works showcase every hue of the rainbow, transforming the Bourbon Steak patio into a vivid oasis featuring two 8-feet-tall, hand-painted Lady Liberty statues, a large drip flag, and a suspended disco ball installation. The works invite guests to “Pledge Allegiance to Color,” symbolizing unity and embracing the beauty of diversity.
Stop by every Sunday from 4 pm – 7 pm through Labor Day weekend to sample seasonal, patio-only dishes and cocktail specials, and listen to a rotation of DJs. Bourbon Steak will donate $1 from every cocktail purchased at The Liberty of Color event series to Worthy Mentoring, supporting their work to provide a safe platform for LGBTQ+ people to seek personal guidance, advice, support, and friendship.
