Talk on Feminist & Civil Rights Activist Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray
Join the City Tavern Preservation Foundation (3206 M St NW) for You Should Know Her Name: Reverend Doctor Pauli Murray, on Thursday, March 2 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Author Rosita Stevens-Holsey, a niece of Reverend Dr. Pauli Murray, will share the story of this trailblazing feminist, Civil Rights activist, lawyer, legal scholar, author, poet, and priest who left an extraordinary legacy. Reverend Dr. Pauli Murray graduated first in her class at Howard University Law School (the only woman in her class), was the first African American woman to earn a PhD in Law from Yale University and be ordained as an Episcopal priest, and was co-founder of the National Organization for Women. Admission is free but registration is required. Doors and a cash bar open at 6 pm. Books will be available after the event.
