Two New Art Exhibits

Don’t miss the first Calloway Fine Art & Consulting (1643 Wisconsin Ave NW) exhibition and reception of the fall season, with new work by Caroline Adams. Meet Caroline on Saturday, September 9 from 4 pm – 6 pm, and check out her Elevation show featuring abstracted landscape paintings in oil and egg tempera inspired by Caroline’s travels. Works will be on display through September 24.

In other art news, Washington Printmakers Gallery (1675 Wisconsin Ave NW) is also hosting a reception on Saturday from 2 pm – 4 pm, spotlighting constructed prints by Kate Lowman. The Sails Away exhibition (running through September 24) features prints that retain the memory of the sun, wind, and water where they began. Constructed from multiple photographs of radio-operated model sailboats, they keep the texture and detail of their originals, but the end result moves wholly or partly into abstraction.
