UCL Soccer Watch Party & Exhibit Launch

Join custom-clothing showroom Commonwealth Proper (1355 Wisconsin Ave NW) on Saturday, June 10 from 2 pm – 6 pm to watch the UCL Final between Inter Milan and Manchester City – the biggest soccer game of the year – and also view The Lucky Pitch Project. The installation incorporates video from past World Cup moments by players from Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy, USA, Colombia, Serbia, Uruguay, and England. The title of the project refers to the soccer fields the two artists, Eric Busheé and Josh Anderson, grew up playing on in DC – finding themselves sitting in the fields covered in clover, tying on their soccer shoes, always keeping an eye out for that lucky four-leaf clover. There is a juxtaposition of nationalism that comes with the World Cup, while still being a time to admire the talents of other nations. The show expresses the cross-cultural admiration of sport and how it brings us together, interweaving our experiences through joy, wonder, disappointment and collaboration.
