UK-Based Brompton Opens, Selling the “Original” Foldable Bike

Brompton recently opened at 1214 Wisconsin Ave NW. The “original folding bike” was first created in 1975 by founder Andrew Ritchie after moving to London and deciding there had to be a better way to get around. The 3-part fold was designed to transform the bike into a small locked package in under 20 seconds. Today, Brompton carries several lines of bikes – from the simple and compact A Line to the new 12-speed P Line – as well as foldable e-bikes, and parts and accessories. You can even join Brompton Bike’s DC Meetup group and join other cyclists for a scenic ride or mechanic clinic.
